Journey to Barra

We arrived in Barra 2 days ago after almost 30 hours of flight. It was really a painful one. Had a 2 hours delay in London and later about 3.5 hours delay in Sao Paulo. When we flew with MAS, it was like heaven in the air. The business class treatment was superb. Everything was so sophisticated from the facilities to services. No wonder they were awarded with the Best Cabin Crew of Year.

Despite of the well treatment and special facilities, I still had that air sick. I threw up twice and each time was after meals, just like a bulimic. I Watched 3 movies during that 12.5 hours flight. We reached London at 5.30pm. The next flight was supposed to take off at 10.30 but was delayed to 12 midnight instead. So, we spent sometimes in the Business Lounge. Wow… no wonder, ones had to pay so much for the Business Class ticket. The lounge is freely to be used by the business class flyer and the services is no limit. Food, internet, shower…everything is available at F.O.C. We tried to get some rest but were too excited with the airport’s shops. Thus, we decided to take a walk and find something that might be interesting to buy. After a few rounds in Heathrow, we didn’t buy anything. We are contemplating to get those later… on the way back.

We bought dinner at this restaurant in Heathrow by using a GBP45 meal voucher that was given to us as compensation to the flight delay to Sao Paulo. Hahahaha… we bought 3 pizzas, and 3 plates of pasta…we were so hungry we thought we could finish all. We gave 1 pizzas and all the pastas to a Singaporean uncle who we met at the Business Lounge. He works there as an attendant. We were the center of attraction at the Lounge during dinner. Hahahaha…Yeah! 3 ladies with all the foods as if we never got to eat on the plane at all. We took a nap after dinner until it’s about time to board on the next flight to Sao Paulo.

Even though the flight supposed to take off at 12am but it only took off 30 minutes later. I didn’t take any meals in that flight and slept all the way. The VARIQ business class is totally nothing compared to MAS. We felt like we were in the economy class instead. Very pitiful indeed. It was really not a pleasant one… with the uncomfortable seats and rough flight attendants. The stewardess and steward hardly smiled. We were not able to get any snacks in the plane…We sworn that we would never step our foot into this flight again after this trip. This would be the last and the final ones.

We arrived in Sao Paula around 7:40am, only to find out that we have to change our flight again to Rio. I checked my flight itinery again and it clearly states that we were supposed to fly with the same flight all the way to Rio with a stopover in Sao Paulo. We were tired and hungry. We even more disappointed as we found out that our next flight to Rio would be at 9.30am. I almost threw my heavy backpack with 2 laptops in it to the floor. Could you believe, they almost boarded us on the wrong flight later??? That VARIQ airline is really sucks! And our flight to Rio only took off at 10.30am instead. By the time we reached Rio, we were hungry like cow and tired like hell. We took the cab to a five star hotel in Barra. The view is breathtaking, my balcony is facing the Atlantic Ocean....
